Ceramic Industrial Powders

Boron Carbide Powder

Boron Carbide Powder is a high performance abrasive material, with physical properties similar to Diamonds, including chemical resistance and hardness.  It ranks third after Diamonds and Cubic Boron Nitride.  It is one of the most versatile materials, and is considered the best material for numerous industrial applications.

Hexagon Boron Nitride Powder

Boron Nitride is a high performance abrasive material with chemical and physical properties similar to diamonds in the chemical resistance and hardness.  It has become one of the most popular dry lubricants due to its lubricating properties and inertness to molten metals and salts.  It is used in many different applications, especially as a mold release agent.  Boron Nitride is a nontoxic, inert to the majority of melted metals and chemical reagents substance.  Boron Nitride Powders – Chemically inert and non-toxic, lubricious at temperatures up to 1800 C (inert atmosphere), Better performing substitute for other solid lubricants such as graphite and molybdenum disulphide.  Boron Nitride Powder is commonly used for Thermal Management.

Synthetic Diamond Powders

Huntington Specialty Materials is able to offer both Crystalline Structure Diamond Powders, and Monocrystalline Structure Diamond Powders.  Our affiliated company, is one of three manufacturers of Polycrystalline Structure Diamond Powders, in the world.  The powder manufacturing plant, has its own grading facility using the State of the Art, and Highly Customized processing equipment.

These synthetic Polycrystalline Diamonds are produced using and short and powerful explosion that transforms graphite into the Diamond.  The process yields Polycrystalline Diamond Crystals each consisting of thousands of micro crystallites bonded together.

The Polycrystalline Diamonds are the only type of the Diamonds that have self-sharpening properties:  Polycrystalline structure will open every time new sharp edges by releasing an outer layer of dull micro crystallites.  The Polycrystalline Diamonds can lap and polish any materials faster than any other abrasive while producing the smoothest, scratch free surface possible.

Black Silicon Carbide Powder

Abrasive Black Silicon Carbide Powders are the perfect material that specifically manufactured to be used for general abrasive applications in bonded abrasive tools, lapping and polishing processes.  While silicon carbide has lower hardness and abrasive capacity than diamond and Boron Carbide, it is widely used for grinding non-ferrous materials, finishing tough and hard materials, filling up ceramic parts when the processing cost is important.

Green Silicon Carbide Powder

Green Silicon Carbide is a man made material elctro furnaced from Silica Sand and Coke.  Due to high purity and unique characteristics Green Silicon Carbide is extremely well suited for hot pressing, sintering and reaction bonded ceramic manufacturing techniques.  It is also well suited for manufacturing grinding tools, for machining non-metallic materials, wire saw slicing of solar wafers, and super refractory applications.

Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide Powder

Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide powders are the perfect material specifically manufactured to be used for general abrasive applications in bonded abrasive tools, and lapping and polishing processes.  While aluminum Oxide has lower hardness and abrasive capacity than Diamond, Boron Carbide, and Silicon Carbide, it is widely used for grinding ferrous materials, finishing tough and hard materials, filling up ceramic parts when the processing cost is important.  Brown Fused Aluminum Oxide is offered in macro and micro powder form, in both P and FEPA grades.

White Calcinated Aluminum Oxide Powder

White Calcinated Alumina (A12O3, also known as Alumina and White Aluminum Oxide powders) is extremely soft, friable, sharp abrasive, similar to Brown aluminum Oxide and has a very low iron content.  WCA has lower hardness and abrasive capacity than fused Aluminum Oxides.
